In private beta — small first group

Turn any URL into a screenshot that actually renders.

Shotlock is a screenshot and preview-image API built for real pages: cookie banners, slow-loading content, sluggish scripts. Send a URL, get back the image you expected.

Most screenshot APIs work — until they hit a real page.

Cookie banners, infinite scroll, paywalls, and slow client-side rendering are the normal case, not the edge case. Independent tests of popular screenshot APIs routinely find failure rates well above what their marketing pages suggest — usually the ones that look fine on a simple blog post and fall apart on a real product page.

01

Blank or partial captures

A 200 response doesn't mean a useful image. Plenty of "successful" requests come back as loading skeletons or consent overlays.

02

No visibility into failures

When a render is bad, you find out from a user, not from a dashboard. Debugging means guessing what the page was doing at capture time.

03

Pricing that punishes retries

Most APIs bill the failed attempt the same as the good one — so unreliability quietly becomes your cost, not theirs.

How Shotlock works

One endpoint. It waits for the page to be genuinely ready, not just loaded, and tells you what it saw.

→ 01

Send a URL

One API call with the URL and what you need back: a PNG, a PDF, or a clean OG preview image.

→ 02

We render it properly

Cookie banners dismissed, lazy content triggered, fonts loaded — checked against the actual DOM, not a fixed timer.

→ 03

Get back an image, and a reason

Every response includes what the render did along the way, so a bad capture is something you can debug in seconds.
